RAC members and their vehicles are invited to take part in the Federal Governments second National In-Service Emissions Study (NISE2) that is being carried out by the Orbital Corporation in Balcatta to assess the emissions performance of Australia’s light vehicle fleet.
Orbital is seeking volunteers to loan their vehicles to the program so they can be tested at their laboratory in Balcatta. The testing takes three to five days in an emissions testing laboratory and will use minimal kilometres on the vehicles tested and does not subject the vehicle to any harsh conditions or damage the vehicle in any way.
The data collected from testing will assist in reducing vehicle emissions and improving air quality.
A range of cars, 4WD’s, as well as petrol light commercial vehicles such as utes and vans from 1994 through to current are sought for testing.
The Federal government will pay you for the use of your vehicle, and a loan vehicle can be made available to you while your vehicle is being tested if required.
If you would like to know more and check whether your vehicle is suitable for testing click here and complete the online form or contact the Program Manager, Harold Hochstadt, on 9441 2277 or email nise2@orbitalcorp.com.au.
