Fire Fighting Awards

In addition to the sponsorship of the emergency rescue helicopter service, the RAC also works with FESA to support the annual RAC Fire Fighting Awards.
The RAC Fire Fighting Awards acknowledge the valuable contribution of both career and volunteer fire fighters from the Fire and Rescue Service and Bush Fire Service to the WA community.
Emergency Services Minister John Kobelke attended the 2007 awards presentation at the Burswood Entertainment Complex, where he congratulated the 26 fire fighters nominated for the awards.
“With the 2007-08 bush fire season predicted to be as severe as last year, it is very fitting to recognise the work of our fire fighters in protecting the community,” Mr Kobelke said.
“Both nominees and finalists have demonstrated commitment and dedication by initiating a range of projects, including important community safety strategies and new practices to improve safety.”
Mr Kobelke said that the awards highlight the achievements of our fire service and reinforce the high standard of emergency service that local communities across the State rely on.
The RAC would like to congratulate the winners of the 2007 RAC Fire Fighting Awards for their dedication and commitment and for going above and beyond the call of duty to make WA a safer place to live. The 2007 winners are listed below.
