
Things to consider before you complete a sponsorship proposal
In addition to our sponsorship guidelines,
RAC is more likely to support projects that:
- Fall naturally under one of our three main themes - Safer communities, Sustainable Environments or Stronger Communities.
- Demonstrate clear objectives and measurable outcomes in line with RAC's (corporate, brand and membership objectives and) values.
- Deliver tangible benefits to our members and the wider WA community.
- Provide the possibility for naming rights.
- RAC is the main sponsor.
- Build community capacity and promote development of skills.
- Could involve working partnerships (skills sharing) with RAC experts and staff.
- Primarily benefit Western Australia and Western Australians.
RAC is not likely to fund:
- Requests by individuals seeking money or material support.
- Requests by groups for fund-raising, travel or study support.
- Indirect appeals, including charity dinners, journal advertising, fund-raising sport events.
- Political or religious parties and activities.
- One-off events like fairs, expos, rallies, conferences and seminars, except those with direct links to the RAC and its businesses.
- Individual teams, clubs or schools, except in some regional areas.
- Partnership with competing brands.
- Projects or special events outside WA.
- Projects with multiple sponsors/partners.
- Capital works, operating costs or salaries.
- Unincorporated groups/bodies.
- Projects that have no other source of funding.
- General health.
- Charities that are already well funded.
The RAC will not fund projects that breach the law and that do not meet public health and safety standards or accepted community or discrimination standards. The RAC will not fund projects that encourage cigarette smoking, the consumption of alcohol or abuse (substance or personal).
