Your duty of disclosure
What you must tell us:
You have a duty under the Insurance Contracts Act 1984, to tell us anything known to you that a reasonable person in the circumstances would include in answer to the question. You must be honest when answering our questions. We use your answers when deciding whether to insure you and anyone else to be insured under the policy, an on what terms.
Who needs to tell us:
Your duty of disclosure relates to you and anyone who resides with you and includes criminal convictions for criminal damage by fire, fraud, theft, burglary, robbery or drug related offences within the last 3 years (including offences pending).
If you do not tell us:
If you do not answer our questions we may reduce or refuse to pay a claim, or cancel the policy. If you answer the questions fraudulently we may refuse to pay a claim and be able to cancel your policy from inception.
