RAC Insurance's responsibility to our members is to ensure that any repair work to their damaged car is properly carried out without compromise to safety and quality. This is achieved through our Approved Smash Repairer Network.

Choosing repairers that meet our high expectations of customer service and quality repairs is important to RAC Insurance. We like to keep our members happy by working with our Approved Smash Repairer Network to get their vehicles back on the road as quickly and as seamlessly as possible.

2. What is the RACI Selection Process?

The first step is the completion of a questionnaire. The Repairer Coordinator that looks after the region you are located in will then contact you to discuss your application and may organise a site visit. The purpose of the site visit is to ensure that you have the necessary facilities and to discuss the process used by RACI. The Repairer Coordinator may then assess your work by sending you some vehicles to repair. If you meet our standards and can meet our key evaluation criteria of quality, timeliness, cost, equipment levels, you may then be given a trial period. This is used to assess your service levels and KPI's over a longer period and to build up a relationship. Should the trial period be successful and you meet our KPI's we may offer you a Approved Smash Repairer Agreement.

For existing Approved Smash Repairers, there is a continual review of performance that takes place, to ensure a successful relationship continues between RACI and the Smash Repairers. Please click on the links above to view flow charts of the process, for both new and existing repairers.
