The Camping Card International provides protection for campers against some legal liability and is widely recognised in Europe and Africa.
- The Camping Card International can entitle members to a small reduction in charges at some sites and covers third-party insurance claims which may be made against a member for compensation for bodily injury to third parties, and/or damage to property resulting from any accident occurring while camping.
- Camping Card International is essential for campers in Europe. Some campsite proprietors will not allow non-holders of the card to use a site.
- The cost of a Camping Card International is $25.00 and includes an International Camping Card directory, which offers discounts to many attractions around the world.

The features and benefits of the Camping Card International are:
- Form of identity – Camping Card International (CCI) holders no longer need to hand over their passports at a campsite. They can use the CCI as a form of identity. Note, however, that the CCI is not a legally valid form of identification and campsite owners may be obligated to ask you to show other forms of identity.
- Third party insurance – a Camping Card International automatically gives you and everybody in your party (up to a maximum of 11 people) third party insurance. The maximum amount payable for damage at campsites, in hotels and in apartments is 2.5 million Swiss Francs.
- Global camping guide – when you obtain your Camping Card International, you will receive a guide that contains information about all the special offers available to you on presentation of your Camping Card International. A concise overview of the discounts and special offers is given for each country and sometimes for each region. These range from a discount on campsite rates or meals in the restaurant to free use of facilities at campsites.
Apply for a card
- To obtain a Camping Card International, just call into the RAC's Perth office at 832 Wellington Street, West Perth.
- You must apply in person – the RAC Perth office is the only Member Service Centre that can issue these cards.You must be a member of the Royal Automobile Club (or an affiliate club), and you are required to bring your passport, details of which are transferred on to the card.
- The Camping Card International costs $25.00 (inclusive of GST), and is valid for 12 months.A ready to download application is available below for you to print out.
