Crime Stoppers
Crime Stoppers is a 24 hour crime 'hotline' where West Australians can provide information anonymously to the police to bring criminals to justice. There is also the added incentive of rewards. In some cases, a reward of up to $1000 will be paid if the information provided leads to an arrest. Calls can be made relating to any criminal activity including fraud, theft and arson.
Since its inception in 1995, Crime Stoppers has received over 295,123 calls from the public resulting in 4,294 arrests and $4,438,322 worth of recovered property.
RAC Insurance is a major sponsor of Crime Stoppers and to further support the programme we conduct presentations to high school students on the importance of the initiative. |
